I consider the dipswitches in the MultiPlus to be for emergencies only. You should use the Mk3 USB Interface for all programming. If you have a remote panel or a Cerbo GX installed you can just unplug the remote panel and replace it temporarily with the Mk3 USB. There are two programs you can use, both can be downloaded from the Victron website, the original program, VE Configure, only works with a PC and the newer program Victron Connect works with PC or Mac but doesn't quite do everything yet that VE Configure does. They are free programs and you can run them both in demo mode to play around with them. I wrote a Blog and and made a video about Programming with Victron Connect and because there is more you can do with VE Configure I made a three part Blog Post to cover that.
I also made a video about how to update the firmware in a MultiPlus or Quattro. In a new installation it would be a good idea to update the firmware to the latest version before doing the programming
