The ability to do all this is built in to the multiplus 12/3000 however to access these functions you need additional equipment. For initial setup you will need the Mk3 USB Interface to be able to access the programming menu. The process is described in my article Programming your MultiPlus or Quattro with Victron Connect. To be able to make adjustments on the fly you will need a remote panel like the Victron Energy DMC000200010 Multi Control GX for Multi-Plus and Quattro that allows you to dial in the shore current limit with a xxxx on the face. If you have a 30 amp generator and you set that control for 30 amps then the MultiPlus will not pull more than 30 Amps from the generator. If it needs more it will invert to add to what is coming in from outside. There are also other remote panels that allow you to make adjustments on the fly like this.
