Yes that is what it is for. It connects to your NMEA backbone. Note that if you have a late model chart plotter there is a better way to connect the Cerbo GX to the Chart plotter that gives Victron its own page on the chart plotter, and still gets all the data into the NMEA 2000 system. Look up Victron Glass Bridge for details.
