You need a wire harness to connect the regulator to the alternator so get the MC-624-H which includes the harness. Lithium batteries don't like to get charged below freezing. The battery temperature sensor will cause the regulator to shut off charging if the batteries get to freezing temperatures, which makes it worthwhile if you are in an area where this might happen. No you don't need to isolate it from your mains charger. Here is my article about what happens when you have multiple charge sources.
