The voltage being measured must be 6.5 volts or above for the Victron BMV 702 to work. The meter comes with a 500 Amp shunt that has a 50 mV drop at full rated current.
You can swap out shunts and program in the range of the shunt, however there is a circuit board that mounts directly on the shunt and if your replacement shunt is not the right dimensions it will be difficult to figure out a way to mount it that does not distort the readings.
