Victron give you three figures for the lifespan of their Smart Lithium Batteries: 50% depth of discharge gets you 5000 life cycles, 70% depth of discharge gets you 3000 life cycles, and 80% depth of discharge gets you 2500 life cycles. For most projects we use the 80% figure for our design calculations. Most people who buy these batteries are looking for a compact battery bank of light weight, so 80% is a good compromise. You can run the battery down all the way on occasion, but that shortens the life so we don't plan on doing it on an everyday basis. .
