The Blue Sea 5005 ANL Fuse Block is only rated for Fuses up to 300 Amp. This fuse block is recommended for wire sizes up to 2/0 awg because bigger wires wont allow the cover to close.
The Blue Sea 5503 ANL Fuse Block is rated up to 750 Amps. Its bigger and can accommodate bigger wires. You can look up the Ampacity tables to see how much current a wire is allowed to carry. For typical boat cable with 105 deg C insulation a 2/0 wire can carry 330 Amps and a 4/0 wire can carry 445 amps. This means you cant use 2/0 wire with a 400 amp fuse because it would be over the allowed current.
