I have a Westerbeke 42B engine with an XT-170 Alternator kit installed. The tach adjustment jumps from very high to very low, with no fine tune adjustment in between. Will this stabilizer work for my application?

The 15 TSS was designed for the AT alternator (which is no longer in production). It will not be a solution for all tachometer issues. It may require a specific type of tachometer that can read lower voltage. You can try it but if you can't get it working you may need to replace the tachometer or you may have to pull the tach signal off the flywheel.
