It is possible to modify most alternators for external regulation. To use the ARS-5-H regulator you would need the alternator to be set up for "P" type external regulation meaning that the regulator will supply a Positive voltage to the field. Im not sure it is going to be worth the effort with your stock Motorola. External regulators push the alternator to work harder, and it has to be able for the job. If the alternator isn't up to the job it will fail. If your alternator was a more heavy duty one to start with this would be a more viable option.
