Yes the Victron Energy BMS210055000 Smart BMS 12/200 will work with a smart alternator but it will only work when the alternator is working, When the alternator is doing nothing it wont be charging the lithium battery. This works for most applications because the Smart BMS can be set up to charge at up to 100 amps. Even though this may not be happening all the time its a pretty good charge rate and it averages out over time to be a viable solution.
