The MC-618-H regulator is not going to save you in this situation. You at least need to use the APM-12 Alternator Protection Module, but even that is not guaranteed. The only completely foolproof ways of having an alternator charge a lithium battery are either 1) have a battery with an external BMS that can tell the alternator regulator to stop, or 2) have the alternator charge a conventional battery and then use a DC DC Charger to take some of that charge to the lithium battery,
