In order to get the full output from the XT alternator you need the MC-618-H regulator. The ARS regulator is not able to supply enough field current for the XT alternator to work at its full capacity.
Can I use my existing ARS5 regulator with this XT alternator, or do I need the MC618 regulator? Balmar XT-DF-170-K6 dual foot alternator with K6 pulley
