Yes you will need a SmartShunt or other battery monitor to give you battery information, the BMS by itself wont be able to give you anything but battery voltage.
Will I need something like a SmartShunt to monitor battery status with this BMS Victron Energy BMS110022000 Smart Battery Management System BMS CL 12-100
