The SG200 does not come with Bluetooth, for that you would get the SG210 which is the same thing with the addition of the Bluetooth gateway. So for a fair comparison it would be the Balmar SG210 vs the Victron BMV 712. They both are battery monitors and both work by measuring amps and counting time to come up with a figure for amp hours. The Balmar goes one step further and adds a way to measure battery state of health. The Victron shunt is rated for 500 amps but the Balmar is only rated for 350 amps. The Balmar has a multi line color display but the Victron is just a very basic single line monochrome display. The Balmar will read the voltage only of two additional batteries, the Victron does the same but only for one additional battery. The Victron has the option to add a temperature sensor, the Balmar does not.
The main difference between the two is related to what they interface to and what other equipment you have on board. The Balmar interfaces to the Balmar MC-618 alternator regulator. If you want the Balmar to interface to NMEA 2000 you need a the SG230. The Victron interfaces to the Cerbo GX and then to their extensive range of other equipment, and the Cerbo GX can interface to NMEA 2000. So for most people what other things you have on board becomes the deciding factor in which monitor to choose.
