Isolated converters have four terminals. There are two input terminals and two output terminals. The input is completely isolated from the output. Other converters are not isolated and only have three terminals, a positive input terminal, a positive output terminal, and a common ground terminal. The Victron Energy ORI122420020 Orion 12/24-20 Step-Up DC/DC Voltage Converter is not isolated and so has three terminals.
