I understand that the PV voltage has to be greater than the battery voltage in order for this to work. What is the minimum source voltage that I would need?

The absolute minimum is 5 volts above battery voltage. If your battery is 14 volts your solar must product 19 volts. If you want this to work on a partly cloudy day it needs to be able to make 19 volts then too. Often its better to put two smaller panels in series to get the voltage up to where the MPPT has the most flexibility to operate with full efficiency.
