Your wiring diagram for installing a two bank ArgoFET battery isolator show the Exciter terminal connected to the boat wiring between the Starter Switch and the Alternator Light, where the other terminal of the light is connected to the Alternator D+ terminal.
Rather than connecting it that way, is it OK to just run a separate wire directly from the Alternator D+ terminal to the Isolator Exciter terminal.

Answer: The Argofet does not list any waterproof rating and so is not suitable for use anywhere there might be moisture. You should mount this somewhere inside the vehicle where it cannot get wet.
