Smart Solar means the MPPT has Bluetooth built in. Blue Solar does not. Having Bluetooth will allow you to connect to the MPPT with your phone using the Victron Connect app. You can use this for programming, to monitor performance, to check history, or for troubleshooting purposes, so having this feature is highly recommended.
