Yes, all the Balmar alternators have a tachometer output. In the case of this 6 series alternator it is the white wire and is officially known as the stator output. It produces a signal that is the output of the alternator before it goes to the diodes and so is an alternating current whose frequency varies with the speed of rotation of the engine. You can take this white wire output directly to the tachometer. If you are using a Balmar regulator you can take it to the regulator first and then to the tachometer, doing it this way gives the regulator more feedback on what the alternator is doing.
