This voltmeter only has a single pair of sense wires so for two batteries you either need two meters or a switch to be able to select which battery the meter is reading.
I have two batteries on sailboat. Do I need two of these voltmeters? I have a switch that allows Battery 1, Battery 2, and Both. Blue Sea 1733 Mini Digital DC Voltmeter with OLED display
