Yes the 60-YP-MC-100-SV Balmar alternator and regulator kit features a patented SmartReady backup internal regulator. This is not intended for everyday use and is just a very simple basic "get you home" model for emergencies. To activate it power up the brown wire coming out the back of the alternator. For everyday use you need to use the external regulator.
