The two regulators use the same wire harness so you will be able to swap out the MC-618 and keep the old one as a spare.
Does the Balmar MC-614 use the same wiring harness as the MC-618?

I bought an older sailboat that has the Balmar Mc-614 regulator. I wanted to have a replacement on-board incase I have a failure. Will I need a new harness for this upgraded regulator?
