Can the MPPT be used as a B2B converter? E.g. if i have a 48v bank or 96 volt bank and want to run some 12 volt items? like the victron Orion...

You can use any of the MPPT's as a battery to battery charger. Instead of using solar as the input you instead can use a higher voltage battery. The source battery must be a minimum of 5 volts above the destination battery. There has to be a battery at the destination end because that is how the MPPT is powered, it won't work without it.
