If you are dealing with larger batteries, a 285 series circuit breaker may not suffice. You would need to opt for an upgrade to a breaker from the 187 Series. The AIC rating for this 285 series breaker is 3000 amps. This is not considered sufficient for battery banks over 650 CCA which require breakers such as the 187 series which have an AIC of 5000 amps @ 14 VDC
