For long term storage its best to put these batteries to approximately 50% charge and then leave them alone. They have a very low self discharge rate. We have had one sitting around our shop for over a year with no problems. If you do want to charge one, to do it properly you need to set it up with an external BMS and a suitable charger. We use a Victron Energy BPC120731104 Blue Smart Waterproof Battery Charger 12/7 with Bluetooth or similar. If you want to leave it unattended you would need to add a BMS and a BatteryProtect Just use whichever BMS you are planning on using for your project.
