The difference is the size of the studs in the connections that join the Lynx to other modular components. M10 stands for 10mm studs and M8 for 8mm studs. In time all the studs will be 10mm but for now we are stuck with both sizes because the Lynx 500 BMS uses 8mm studs and the Lynx 1000 uses 10mm studs.
