The height of the Victron MultiPlus-II 12/3000 inverter/charger is 578 mm (22.75 inches). It is possible to mount this lying on its back if needed provided you can get enough ventilation. Mounting it that way is not optimal because you are foregoing natural convection as part of the cooling, and relying solely on the fans. If you need something shorter you should consider the slightly older model PMP122301102 which is shorter and fatter but otherwise almost identical functionally.
