Yes the Balmar 60-100-SV is compatible with the Yanmar 4JH5E. You will however also require an external regulator. The alternator and regulator are sold together as a kit that also includes two temperature sensors. Its cheaper to buy them this way. The part is Balmar 60-YP-MC-100-SV Alternator and regulator kit -12 Volt 100 Amp Single Pulley
