The Balmar MC-618 Voltage Regulator 12 Volts (No Harness) is compatible with P-type externally regulated alternators. P-type alternators get a positive voltage delivered to their field wire, common in the US. In Europe, N-type alternators, which are not compatible with this regulator, are more common.
