It means that the MPPT has xxxx terminals for its power connections, instead of MC4 connectors. xxxx terminals can accept a bare wire or a wire with a ferrule. Most of our customers do not like to use MC4 connectors for their boats or RV's because to use them would require drilling bigger holes in the structure than would be needed for a bare wire.
