The 3106100 trips at 30 mA for leakage protection. This is the standard set by the ABYC for whole boat protection and is a compromise between safety and convenience. This trip level protects from the more serious fault currents while avoiding most nuisance tripping, By way of comparison the trip level of domestic GFCI receptacles is 5 mA, a much stricter level of protection that wouldnt work for whole boat coverage because the nuisance tripping would be too much.
