An FET battery isolator like the Victron ArgoFet 200 amp battery isolator, has virtually no voltage loss compared to a diode battery isolator. This means more efficient charging and better performance of your batteries, as voltage drop is minimized. Additionally, this isolator allows simultaneous charging of multiple battery banks without the need to increase the alternator's output voltage. Despite its advantages over other isolators it does have some losses and generates some heat. That is why there are cooling fins, they are there to dissipate the heat.
