Your Victron Orion DC-DC charger might not be working due to issues such as incorrect wiring, insufficient input voltage, or a blown fuse. Here is a checklist:
- Is the charger turned on? The green plug acts as a remote switch. The plug must be in and it must have its terminal jumper installed. If you fitted a remote switch it must be on.
- Is the source battery at a high enough voltage? In the case of this 24 to 12 volt charger the default voltage to turn it on is 28 volts. This is adjustable in the settings.
- Is the destination battery full? The Orion is a three stage charger that will turn off when the battery is full.
- Do both the source and destination battery share the same negative? This is a requirement for the non-isolated chargers?
- Can you read the voltages of both batteries at the input and output terminals of the Orion? Does it record those voltages correctly in the app?
