The Centerfielder is designed to work in with two alternators on different engines both charging the same battery. It works in conjunction with a pair of MC-618 regulators (in a 12 volt system) or a pair of MC-624 regulators (in a 24 volt system). When only one engine is running the Centerfielder activates the regulator for that engine but leave the other regulator idle. When both engines are running it uses just one of the regulators to drive both alternators.
