In theory this wiring harness could be used in vans but because it is quite short the alternator regulator would have to be installed in the engine compartment. Since there usually nowhere to mount a regulator in the wiring compartment, and nowhere in there is guaranteed free of spray and dirt, the regulator would normally have to go somewhere else. This would require a longer harness. The equivalent van harness is about 20 ft long.
