No, this universal belt tensioner is designed to be used with an existing adjustment arm. To make this work you must have an existing adjustment arm that is long enough to accommodate the mechanism at the end of the arm. If your arm is too short or the alternator is already sitting near the outer end of its adjustment then there may not be enough room to fit the BBU on the end and still get the alternator to where you want it. In these cases you are better off getting the UBB adjustment arm with Belt Buddy. Then it will be long enough to accommodate the mechanism and still allow you to position the alternator where you want it.
