The fuse itself is not ignition protected, but it can be installed in an ignition protected fuseblock and as long as the cover is kept latched the entire assembly counts as ignition protected. Ignition protection is important in environments where explosive gases might be present, such as engine rooms of gasoline powered boats, as it prevents the fuse from igniting those gases.
