The device mounts directly on the back of the alternator and is mounted at the rear of the alternator between B+ and B- terminals.. Installation is straightforward: Connect the ring terminal on the red lead to the alternator's B+ post. For the black lead, connect it to the B- post if the alternator is isolated ground, or to a case mounting bolt if it's case ground. Secure the APM case to a battery cable using the included zip-ties. Do not place either connector under the battery cable lugs because the high current terminals need to be the ones closest to the alternator. Ensure alternator nuts are tight, as loose connections prevent protection. Refer to your alternator manual for B+ and B- locations.
