The serpentine design offers superior power transfer with greater belt-to-pulley contact area, supporting high-output alternators (up to 250A with XT-Series or even a bit more with Arco alternators) far beyond the factory V-belt's limits (typically 100A at 12V). Additional advantages include reduced engine vibration, less belt dust and wear, quieter operation during motoring, easier belt changes and longer belt life. It's a cost-effective upgrade over second-alternator kits, which Balmar no longer produces.
