The advantage of the magnetic latching design of the Blue Sea ML series switches provides a significant advantage: Zero Continuous Current Draw.
A standard solenoid requires a small amount of current to hold itself in the ON position. The ML-Solenoid only draws a momentary pulse of current to change state (from OFF to ON, or ON to OFF). Once latched, it draws 0 Amps, preventing parasitic battery drain, which is critical for long-term power conservation
