You should select based on three factors:

Continuous Rating: Must exceed the maximum continuous current your system pulls (e.g., 300A for a large inverter).

Cranking Rating: Must handle the "surge" or "cold cranking amps" (CCA) required by your engine for 10–30 seconds.

Voltage: Ensure the switch is rated for your system (most are 32V or 48V DC).
- Function: Switches are available in ON-OFF or 1-2-BOTH-OFF configurations, as well as with optional extras such as Alternator Field Disconnect terminals
