The primary advantage is low voltage drop. Traditional diode isolators cause a voltage drop of 0.3V to 0.7V, which can result in batteries not reaching a full charge. FET (Field Effect Transistor) isolators, like the Victron Argofet, have a negligible voltage loss (less than 0.02V at low current and ~0.1V at full capacity), ensuring your batteries receive the proper charging voltage directly from the alternator.
