"Smart" has a particular meaning in the Victron world and means that the item is equipped with Bluetooth and can communicate with your phone or tablet using the Victron Connect App. This is in addition to the common meaning of the word smart. All of these devices are smart in that sense too because they are programmable and have sophisticated algorithms to charge batteries to a particular set of parameters as set up in programming.
