Standard solenoids require a constant flow of electricity to stay "on," which creates heat and drains your battery over time (parasitic draw). Magnetic Latching models, like the Blue Sea ML-Series sold by PKYS, only use power for a split second to flip the switch open or closed. Once it’s in position, it stays there with zero continuous current draw, making it much more efficient for long-term use.
