The detailed answer to this is in our Blog Post but to summarize: In inductive load circuits the load interacts with the power source and fights against it reducing it apparent output. What you are left with is the VA number which in an inductive circuit (motors for example) will always be lower than the nominal output. For instance, a 3000VA Victron Phoenix inverter with 3000 VA is rated for approximately 2400 Watts of continuous power at room temperature.
