ABYC standard 11.10.2.8.3 requires that if a boat's main shore power disconnect is more than 10 feet (3 meters) away from the shore power inlet, an additional fuse or circuit breaker must be installed within 10 feet of that inlet. These surface mount enclosures provide a safe, compliant way to house those breakers near the inlet.
