If you connect to a 120/240 volt shore power source standard 120V inverters will only be able to power half your breakers when off-grid. The 2x120V models simplify installation by sitting "in-line" with your 50A shore power cord, automatically handling both legs of power and ensuring all your 120V outlets work whether you are plugged in or not.
