While 120V is the US standard, 230V units are frequently used in the US for boats built to European specifications. The other application for these inverter charger is to use a 230V inverter with a Victron Autotransformer, allowing a boat can create a balanced 120/240V split-phase system, which is often more efficient and provides more power than a single 120V unit. By default these inverter chargers put out 230 volts and 50 Hz but a minor programming tweak can change that to 240 volts 60 Hz
