These devices are not much bigger than a matchbox and are small enough to be mounted directly on the back of most alternators. They all have two wire connections that go to the alternator positive and alternator negative connections. They are normally attached with wireties that are supplied with the units. When making the connections its important that these small wires go on top so they dont get sandwiched between the alternator output and the high current wire to the battery.
