Unlike "Surface Mount" versions that sit on top of a bulkhead, these are designed to be mounted through a hole in a dashboard or electrical panel. This results in a cleaner look where only the switch lever and the face of the breaker are visible from the front, while the wiring remains hidden behind the panel.
